Farewell at Wiltwyck

Billy Madden would have loved the way his memorial tournament played at Wiltwyck Country Club yesterday. Scores of golfers played Bill’s favorite game and remembered a great friend. His mother, sister and in-laws got to hear some stories they may not have heard before and his lovely wife Cecilia got to get out and socialize a little. It was so great to see her and feel her strength. Organizer Mike Dillon got to see all his hard work end with a complete success, hope he gets some needed peace and quiet. (I know his wife Joanie will appreciate getting back a Teddy Bear instead of a Grizzly) Best part is with the tournament two wonderful girls will get some educational assistance.

Yup, I have no doubt Billy was able in someway to feel a lot of love and caring and even some pride knowing that he did touch people. I am by nature not a country club type; a public course is all my golf ability can handle. This day however was special enough to warrant dressing up and playing 18 on the area’s premier club. Catch you on the back nine, Billy! Posted by Picasa
