Travel Writing, Father & Son

I got an email from Steve our associate editor yesterday telling me that my piece on St Lucia was right next to my son’s piece on Madrid. I have been dragging Chance around the world since he was three, funny to see an article by him next to mine. Fortunately he takes after his mom rather than me. Funny again, just as I was writing this he just called from Québec. I caught wander lust via my dad and it seems to pass down. I only hope he reverts to his mother’s more practical side, making a good living travel writing is hard work with stiff competition. The benefits are enormous but another source of income is so very beneficial. Still I love the part I share with him; it is a big beautiful world.
