In our quest to find an uncrowded
South Florida we seem to be doing quite well. Just to see what is up we drove through South Beach this morning, and while the buildings are interesting it isn’t for me. People on top of people was never my style and never will be. We then headed up to the
Little Haiti area to check out the funky stores filled with Santeria gear, think eye of frog and hair of goat. Certainly no spring breakers there looking for love spell potions. I suspect expensive bottles of champagne works better in
South Beach.
Coconut Grove has been tranquil and the weather perfect, some pool time over looking the ocean filled the afternoon. We bought a bottle of
Barbancourt Haitian rum, fresh squeezed lemonade and mint and mixed some Mojitos for the balcony. The glow of the sinking sun reminded me of the days I spent down in St. Croix.

So funny, Kate and Francisco used to live in little Haiti, and I remember going into a grimy grocery store for whole red snappers and spices. Love the mojitos, gotta make me one of them the next time we see you on the deck in Cottekill!!
