You can tell a lot about a place by its markets. In the US we are used to sanitized shrink wrapped meats and plastic coated cukes. The dangling organs in the first picture are meats you most likely would never find in the US. In Mombasa however these cheaper cuts save lives and nothing goes to waste. The second picture is from Lyon where display of veggies is artful and appealing. No matter where I go a stop by the local market place is a must, tripe dejour anyone.
