Press trips are a mind set; it can be like traveling with your family, you temporarily get that close. That also could mean it is like traveling with crazy old Aunt B or the twin brother you hate. Of course most of the time you meet some really interesting people, my travel mates to SVG were like the good relatives you like sitting around with at the table after Thanksgiving. One has a great blog going on about her move to Chicago from LA and all the changes she is going through and although she has been writing for a long time she has been bitten by the travel bug.
