Saratoga Picks, Beautiful Lil in the Fourth

It is five thirty in the morning here in Saratoga Springs and I have just returned to my motel room with a coffee and the Times Union. Sure enough I went straight to the sports section and it wasn’t to read about Strahan and the Giants, yup, I got race track fever. Sipping coffee and looking at yesterday’s results is a sure sign. Like many others I am lamenting the fact that I had the second and third horse and except for that damn nag that won, I’d be rich!

Perhaps the biggest tip off is the fact that I am reading the handicappers picks for today and I plan on being miles away for post time. Still I may just place one last bet at OTB on the way home. There is a horse named Beautiful Lil in the 4th, I am married to a beautiful Lil. Better yet in the same race is a horse named A.P. Test, my Lil teaches AP English. To top it off another horse in the race is named Impressionism; Lil loves that style of art. Is it fate that I happened to check the handicappers? I’d probably be better off handicapping destinations, two to one you’ll love Paris in the spring time.
