While waiting for the ferry to the Isle -aux- Coudres we came upon this mammouth ship stranded. The St. Lawrence's ebb and flow reflect lifes comings and goings. The island's name was given to it by Jacque Cartier in 1535 because of the hazelnut trees called "couldres" on it. Even today the islanders have a different style than found on mainland. The cost of the ferry is zero, nice day trip and glimpse into Charlevoix's many facets.
